McCulloch MC1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner Review

Cleaning is something I hate with an absolute passion. I am not very good at it and anything I attempt to clean normally ends up looking a lot worse than when I started. When I was younger (and probably because she did not want her house being ruined) my mother used to tell me all the tips and tricks she had picked up over the years about the best way to clean up. Newspapers for cleaning the windows, white wine to get out red wine stains and the menagerie of other old wives tales you’ve probably heard a million times over too. This is why I am ever so thankful when a device comes into my life which can help me to clean. The device in question today is the McCulloch MC1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner so let’s take a closer look.

Tell me about the features

Rachel’s consumer website is a place which you can compare the features of a lot of different steam cleaners but in this review we need to be more specific and talk about those of the McCulloch. First up it has a powerful steam and lockable trigger which allows you to continually blast through the task at hand. It doesn’t matter if it is years of dirt and grime build up on the pavement outside your front door or simply some dirt on the tiles in your bathroom, this machine has enough pressure to make light work of both. It can naturally clean deep and thoroughly without the use of chemicals which could be hazardous. The McCulloch has a large 48 ounce water tank which takes a paltry 8 minutes to heat up and can provide 45 minutes of continuous steam. The package comes with 18 versatile accessories including a floor mop attachment for use on sealed flooring surfaces, and the extra long power cord and on board storage offer a convenient place to store these accessories.

What are the good points?

This machine is as versatile as it is useful. The steam it produces lasts for a very long time so you can clean large areas without refilling the water tank. It will clean things naturally without the need for polluting chemicals and the number of attachments which come with it in the box will have you entertained for weeks! It can even get that notoriously hard to clean spot the car wheel which is a massive bonus for anyone who drives!

What are the bad points

Nothing in this world is perfect and the McCulloch has its flaws too. Fortunately they are small ones though. They include the fact that it is rather loud when in us, it takes a short while to heat up the steam and it does not do as good a job as some chemical equivalents do.

What’s the conclusion?

A very useful piece of equipment to have in your home. If the other half has been nagging you to clean the tiles in the bathroom then this is your chance to do so and have some fun whilst you are doing it. It makes the awful job of cleaning that little bit better!
